EDM Team Supervisor
RPS is seeking an experienced team supervisor for our Scottish Water contract. You will manage an existing team of EDM Technicians.
About the TeamOur team assesses and performs the installation of equipment to monitor the risk of spillage into the environment. EDM fully supports the delivery of regulatory targets and works with a high level of accuracy to deliver a great service for clients.
About YouA key member of the EDM business, your role as team supervisor is critical to helping us deliver great projects for our water industry clients. You will work alongside a multiādisciplinary team of water experts on a range of projects all over Scotland.
Your ResponsibilitiesCore
Inform Delivery Manager of job progress.
Realātime resource management, decisionāmaking and liaison with Delivery Managers.
Work both in the field and in the office as required.
Support the team as and when required, staying away to cover for sickness and holidays.
Act as a standāin for team members.
Manage live shared teams\ā folders.
Communicate clearly both internally and externally.
Be proficient in RPS reporting systems.
Leadership
Ensure team timesheets are completed, submitted and approved on time.
Ensure vehicle inspections are submitted daily and weekly.
Maintain compliance within acceptable limits and ensure communication between field and office teams.
Mentor team members where required.
Maintain excellent interācompany and team relationship management.
Manage priority changes as required.
Lead team engagement across areas as required.
Communicate tough messages clearly and empathetically.
Ensure adherence to our IMS procedures.
Demonstrate and exemplify RPS behaviours at all times.
Liaise with the principal engineer to address any technical responsibilities and/or issues.
Identify, develop and implement behaviours, tests, techniques and equipment to improve EDM detection and team efficiencies.
KPI
Monitor performance and provide constructive feedback.
Ensure people are accountable for their own work.
Ensure the team adheres to their goals and objectives.
Drive the team to meet all targets set.
Client Management
Attend client meetings as required.
Acknowledge issues when they arise and act to resolve them decisively and promptly.
Encourage frequent interaction with team members outside formal meetings.
Health & Safety
Always put safety first.
Organise and perform siteābased work inspections for your teams.
Review and monitor all 1.09.01 risk assessments, hazards and nearāmisses.
Procure equipment/PPE as required.
Pick up and deliver any equipment/PPE orders to teams.
Audit jobs on the ground.
Be responsible for all HSE delivery for your teams.
Maintain physical fitness and health.
Note: mandatory drugs and alcohol tests are undertaken for this role and a DBS check will be conducted.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Comfortable working within confined spaces.
Valid driving licence.
Relevant experience leading teams.
Comfortable with Microsoft Office 365.
Experience with wastewater work streams.
Excellent time and resource management skills.
Recognise when results need to improve.
Show fairness and thought in decisionāmaking.
Be transparent and open in discussion.
Generate honest and constructive questions.
Bring out the best in team members, assuming best intent.
Lead team meetings as required, including progression plans.
Perform yearāend reviews for your teams.
Responsible for event duration monitoring.
Spend appropriate time with each team on the ground.
