What You Will Be Doing

  • Plan, book and deliver ecological survey programmes across sectors, ensuring mobilisation of field teams and subcontractors, timely completion and clear communication of progress.
  • Provide day‑to‑day operational oversight of survey logistics, improve coordination workflows and act as primary contact for complex, multi‑site campaigns.
  • Coordinate and schedule multiple concurrent ecology survey programmes (bats, breeding birds, reptiles, great crested newts, NVC) across GB portfolio.
  • Manage engagement, briefing and deployment of internal staff and specialist subcontractors, arranging access, permissions and on‑site logistics.
  • Serve as principal point of contact for survey logistics with clients, landowners, statutory consultees and supply‑chain partners; negotiate access and resolve scheduling constraints.
  • Maintain detailed programme calendars and resource plans; update project teams on progress, risks and contingency actions.
  • Prepare and maintain administrative project documentation (survey briefs, equipment checklists, travel arrangements, permits, access agreements, health & safety documentation).
  • Liaise with project managers to align outputs with reporting programmes and deliverable deadlines; escalate conflicts to directors and recommend mitigation.
  • Implement and continually improve coordination processes, templates and data‑capture workflows (mobile data‑collection tools and GIS).
  • Monitor and report on survey budgets and timesheet inputs; support finance with invoicing queries relating to subcontractors and mobilisation.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and training to junior coordinators and administrative staff.
  • Support tendering and bid preparation by supplying reliable survey scheduling input, resource estimates and practical delivery considerations.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in coordination, scheduling or project support roles, ideally in environmental consultancy, surveying or construction sectors.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail; manage multiple deadlines and seasonal constraints.
  • Strong communicator, confident liaising with clients, landowners, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Practical problem‑solver who can make timely decisions to re‑sequence programmes and manage access challenges.
  • Competent with standard office IT systems (MS Office) and comfortable adopting project management tools, online calendars and mobile data‑capture systems; GIS awareness desirable.
  • Working knowledge of ecological survey seasonality and constraints beneficial; ecology field skills advantageous but not required.
  • Good written skills for preparing clear briefs, logistical instructions and progress updates.
  • Ability to travel regionally for site meetings and occasional overnight stays; full driving licence preferred.

Desirable

  • Experience working with subcontractor frameworks and managing third‑party suppliers.
  • Familiarity with post‑construction reporting workflows and basic understanding of ecological survey methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctoral degree in Field of Study or related field.
