Tetra Tech RPS 2026 Graduate Scheme: Your Launchpad to a Consultancy Career

Join our two‑year Graduate Scheme and kickstart your career with hands‑on experience, expert mentorship, and a tailored development plan. You’ll work on a variety of real‑world projects, develop both technical and professional skills, and be encouraged to share your ideas and shape your future.

Role

We’re seeking talented graduates to join our Civil Engineering team in Glasgow or Edinburgh. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to the design and delivery of renewables infrastructure projects that support strategic growth within various markets, including renewables infrastructure, transmission, transportation and flood protection across Scotland and supporting our multi‑disciplinary Northern Ireland business within Tetra Tech RPS. You’ll join a collaborative team of professionals within a high‑performing consultancy.

Your Impact In This Position

As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the technical delivery of projects. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across the full project lifecycle—from concept design to construction—and contribute to solutions that improve lives and shape cities.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, attend client meetings and site visits, and produce technical drawings and calculations that meet industry standards. With mentorship from senior engineers and access to a structured development programme, you’ll build the skills, confidence, and experience needed to progress toward chartership and beyond.

What To Expect

  • Mentorship & Support: Learn from experienced professionals and receive guidance from a dedicated technical mentor in your chosen discipline.
  • Structured Learning: Benefit from a blend of formal training, project‑based learning, and self‑directed study.
  • Personal Development: Build your consultancy skills through a mix of technical and interpersonal training, with regular feedback and reviews.
  • Community: Start with a central induction alongside your graduate peers and become part of a collaborative, supportive network.

Programme Highlights

  • Central induction and ongoing support from your line manager and mentor.
  • In‑depth technical training in your core discipline, plus exposure to 15 technical and 8 interpersonal topics.
  • Quarterly development reviews to track your progress.
  • Opportunities to shadow senior colleagues and contribute to diverse projects.

Your Pathway

You’ll be assigned a location, cost centre, line manager, and a ‘home’ technical discipline based on your qualifications and business needs. If you wish to explore a different discipline at the end of the programme, we’ll consider this based on your interests and business requirements.

Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Partnership

As part of the scheme, you’ll have access to the CMI Foundation Chartered Manager pathway through flexible, online Bite‑Size programs. Choose from a range of topics—including Managing Change, Leading in a Digital Age, Conflict Resolution, Project Management, and Data‑Driven Decision Making—to build your leadership and management skills.

Application and Selection Process

To apply for the Tetra Tech RPS 2026 Graduate Scheme, candidates must submit an up‑to‑date CV detailing their academic background, relevant experience, and motivation for joining the programme. All applications will be acknowledged upon receipt.

Following initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment designed to evaluate key competencies and problem‑solving skills relevant to consultancy work. Those who progress beyond this stage will be invited to attend a final assessment, which will take the form of either an in‑person interview or an assessment centre, depending on location and discipline.
