We are currently recruiting multiple Senior Civil Design Engineers (Water) with wastewater networks and/or clean water networks experience for major long-term water industry frameworks across the UK. In addition to long-term programmes across the UK water industry, RPS and Tetra Tech have won a £100 million single-award framework from United Utilities to support river health improvement in Northwest England. RPS has worked with United Utilities for over 20 years on innovative projects. As we move towards AMP8, this is an exciting time to work in the water industry, collaborating with passionate organisations to create positive change. Under this 10-year framework, RPS will drive program optimisation, develop solutions, and select preferred options based on best value, lowest carbon, and cost. About The Team
RPS Water Consulting is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development for Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This is an evolving industry with challenges and opportunities requiring innovation, dedication, and teamwork to meet clients’ needs.
About You
You will contribute to optioneering, outline, and detailed design expertise across various frameworks. Our scope encompasses technically demanding projects in Wastewater Infrastructure. By joining us, you’re making a meaningful impact on millions of lives in the UK, leaving a legacy for generations to come.
Your Responsibilities
- Supporting the Principal Engineer in managing projects and preparing conceptual, schematic, and detailed design of water and wastewater infrastructure assets.
- Interacting with clients to grasp their specific needs and preferences.
- Creating outline and detailed design drawings and associated construction-ready documentation.
- Offering input into Feasibility-level designs and Optioneering assessments.
- Generating concise design calculations, reports, drawings, and deliverables.
- Collaborating with contractors, supply chain, and project stakeholders.
- Mentoring junior team members.
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- Demonstrated technical design proficiency across multiple disciplines.
- Effective motivation, influencing, and people management skills.
- Good grasp of relevant British Standards, UK Industry Codes of Practice, and Water Specifications.
Qualifications
- Preferably degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a relevant technical subject.
- Chartered or working towards chartership.
- Affiliation with a professional institution like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM.
