RPS is seeking an experienced Field Technician to join our team as a Wastewater EDM Installer. This role is well suited to those with backgrounds in Mechanical, Electrical and Telecommunications roles, or those from the Utilities sector. Once trained, you would work with a 3-person team, carrying out the installation, commissioning and maintenance of EDM (Event Duration Monitoring) equipment.
About The Team
RPS Water Consulting Scotland is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Site Based Operations Teams providing Asset Survey and Operational Support to our Water Industry clients. Our Stepps & Grangemouth team carry out wastewater network activities such as flow monitoring, asset surveys and data monitoring equipment installations, helping gather critical operational data to improve model accuracy and better understand network performance.
About You
As a key member of the Wastewater Operations business, your role as EDM Installer is critical to helping us deliver great projects for our Water Industry clients. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of water quality experts on a range of capital delivery projects. EDM equipment is used to gather data from the Wastewater Network to understand when overflows are spilling. These overflows are designed to spill in heavy rainfall, ensuring our sewer network does not cause flooding to people's homes, streets, and communities.
Your Responsibilities
- The installation, maintenance, inspection of Event Duration Monitoring (EDM) equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturers guidelines along with client & RPS policies and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
- A strong utilities background and the willingness to learn new skills will be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to complete paperwork accurately and annotate plans.
- Being comfortable entering and installing EDM kit in confined spaces.
- Experience using drills and taking accurate measurements.
- Ideally some experience in a wastewater related role.
- Experience with phone apps to data capture.
- Excellent problem-solving and accurate record-keeping capabilities.
- Demonstrable track record of reliability and flexibility.
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence.
Health And Safety
This role may involve:
- Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers.
- Working in all weather conditions.
- You may be required to work in confined spaces and on highways.
- Daily/weekly checks of equipment & Vehicles.
Please note mandatory drugs and alcohol tests are undertaken for this role and a DBS check will be undertaken.
