Join to apply for the Acoustic Logging Technician role at RPS. We are seeking Acoustic Logging Technicians for our South East Water contract to take noise samples on the water network. The role is based in Basingstoke, Kent and Sussex. This is a great opportunity to develop skills with a leading Environmental Consultancy.

About the Team

The RPS Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) team provides industry‑leading services to the UK water industry. The team focuses on monitoring and improving water networks, reducing leakage, and supporting regulatory targets through data analysis and practical solutions.

About You & Your Responsibilities

  • Locating water main fittings
  • Taking noise samples using electronic leak detection equipment
  • Full training will be provided

Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

  • Prior experience beneficial but not essential
  • Enjoy working outdoors, rain or shine
  • Basic maths and English skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required
  • Good hearing
  • Happy working alone and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Health and Safety
  • Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers
  • Working in all weather conditions, including night work
  • Potential work in confined spaces and on highways
  • Mandatory drug and alcohol tests and DBS check required
