RPS is currently seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our Structures Team.
About The Design Business:
RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple sectors, including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, energy, and more. We focus on balancing form and function, sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. Digitalisation is central to our delivery, allowing clients to experience designs from concept through detailed drawings, leveraging expertise across industries and disciplines.
What you’ll be doing:
This role offers career progression for a Senior Structural Engineer within our reputable team, providing extensive expertise across sectors of the built environment.
Duties Include:
- Assist management of the structural engineering team
- Manage projects and project teams independently
- Handle financial responsibilities for your projects
- Prepare fee quotations and invoices
- Manage staff and consultants
- Develop engineering and technician teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders and clients
- Conduct site visits, structural surveys, investigations, and repairs
Who we’re looking for:
Candidates should have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally chartered or working towards chartership with ICE, IStructE, or equivalent. Additionally, you will:
- Have experience in designing foundations, masonry, concrete, steel, and timber structures to eurocodes
- Experience in residential markets, including traditional and framed structures
- Market awareness in project finance, client development, and project appointment processes
- Experience in structural investigations for residential and commercial properties
- Preferably familiar with the Building Safety Act investigations and reporting
- Proficiency with Tekla (Tekla Designer and Tedds) and ideally AutoCAD/Revit
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Motivated, autonomous, innovative
