Job Description:
RPS has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our wastewater team in Irlam. This is a senior position responsible for delivering and building upon existing frameworks and relationships with utilities across the UK.
About the Role:
You will support clients, technical leads, Project Directors, and RPS Senior Management to achieve the objectives of the Water Technical Business Stream. Responsibilities include ensuring health, safety, wellbeing, operational performance, and KPI delivery. You will oversee up to 30 staff, mostly field-based. The salary is negotiable depending on experience, with benefits including a company car or allowance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing projects through their lifecycle using the PLAN, ORGANISE, LEAD, & CONTROL pillars.
- Leading change management and continuous improvement within the wastewater business area.
- Managing sewer network projects and health, safety, wellbeing of teams.
- Upholding high professional standards and environmental standards.
- Establishing and managing collaborative and remote teams.
- Delivering excellent customer service and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Occasional travel between Irlam and Clevedon offices.
Candidate Profile:
Ideally based in the northwest, with strong understanding of contract conditions, financial targets, and safety standards.
Skills & Experience:
- Transformational leadership and strategic collaboration skills.
- Experience in high-risk environments like confined spaces.
- Proven leadership of diverse teams and delivery of complex projects.
- Excellent communication, IT skills, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in utility services or similar industry preferred.
- Knowledge of drainage and sewer networks advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office and work management systems.
- Full UK driving license essential.
Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant subject preferred or equivalent experience.
- Project management certification such as PRINCE2 or APM.
