Project Engineer – Quality Control – Water Asset Management

RPS has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer – Quality Control to join our Asset Inspections Business. This role supports, delivers, and builds upon our frameworks and relationships with utility companies across Scotland.

About You:

As a key member, your role is crucial in delivering projects for our Water Industry clients. You will work with a multidisciplinary team on capital delivery projects, focusing on quality control and assurance of Water and Wastewater Projects, ensuring adherence to standards and client guidance. Your responsibilities include supporting inspection phases, documenting findings, and implementing best practices to maintain high quality across projects. Collaboration with team members and clients to resolve issues and promote continuous improvement is essential.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support asset inspection programs with thorough reviews and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee quality control processes to meet standards and client expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with guidance documents and standards, applying best practices and regulations.
  • Maintain organized documentation of inspections and lessons learned.
  • Support and train inspection teams to ensure high performance.
  • Engage with clients on quality and compliance issues, fostering strong relationships.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and quality.
  • Attend sites as needed to support the Asset Inspections Framework.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Experience in water industry asset inspections, quality control, and compliance.
  • Attention to detail in inspections and quality processes.
  • Based preferably in the central belt.
  • Experience with high-risk environments like confined spaces and highways.
  • Familiarity with modern inspection methods such as UAVs, LIDAR, GIS.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Goal-driven with a track record of exceeding client expectations.
  • Proven performance management and change implementation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, work management systems, and related applications.
  • Reliable and flexible.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree is desirable but significant experience is also considered.
  • A full UK driving license is essential.
