RPS are currently seeking an experienced Lift Engineer to join our progressive business and service our clients by providing consultancy services in the locations of South London and Manchester. About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple, niche sectors from residential housing developments, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centres, energy and more as we strive to achieve the right balance between form and function when faced with competing priorities around sustainability, materiality, cost and constructability. Digitalisation is at the core of our delivery model allowing our clients and their stakeholders to really experience our designs right from project concept stage and through drawing on expertise spanning decades, industries and disciplines, we assist clients to harmonise design drivers through inspired engineering, architecture and development services.
What you’ll be doing: This is an exciting role for an individual looking to progress their career within Lift Engineering within our industry leading team where we have an excellent reputation, offering a wealth of expertise in all sectors. We are offering a broad and varied role within a challenging and rewarding environment and you will be part of lift and escalator modernisation projects.
- Designing
- Reviewing of contractor’s proposals and drawings
- Reviewing and commenting on Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Attend pre-start meetings.
- The management of projects – New Lift and Escalator Installation projects (new build or lift replacement)
- Account management and Lift Contract Management
- Accident Investigation
- Witness testing
- Health and Safety site audits, Lift Maintenance Audits, Lift dilapidation audits and EN81-80 audits
- Traffic analysis and calculations
- Specification
- FM, Maintenance and Compliance projects.
- Trouble shooting
- Occasional LOLER examinations
- Procurement exercises
- Regular reporting
Who we’re looking for: To be successful in this role you will most likely have a NVQ3 or NVQ4 Lift Engineering. Previous experience within either Lift Engineering Consultancy or Project Management. Additionally, you will:
- Be experienced in working on projects creating specifications that are required
- Have a good technical background on various manufacturers equipment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Analytically experienced with strong attention to detail
- Have the ability to make decisions and be motivated
- Comfortable with autonomy with an appetite to drive innovation
- A team player
