RPS is currently seeking Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services) to join our teams in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle on a hybrid basis.
About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across sectors such as residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, and energy. We focus on balancing sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability, leveraging digitalisation to enhance project delivery from concept through detailed design.
What you’ll be doing: This role offers career progression within our industry-leading team. Responsibilities include:
- Producing detailed design calculations and sketches per project requirements
- Applying technical engineering design knowledge
- Collaborating with Senior Engineers and Technicians on design and drawings
- Assisting with surveys, design, specifications, and contract administration
- Conducting site visits and office-based project work
- Carrying out electrical building services design for new build and refurbishment projects
- Supporting feasibility, concept, and scheme design stages
- Attending design meetings and inspecting electrical systems
- Using software for calculations and CAD drawings
- Selecting products and equipment compliant with standards and cost considerations
Who we’re looking for: Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience aligned with IET or CIBSE standards. Skills include designing electrical systems from concept to detailed design, familiarity with regulations, and proficiency with tools like AutoCAD and Amtech.
