RPS is seeking a Flow Survey Crew Leader to support us on our Scottish Water contract in Grangemouth.

It’s an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business as the workload in the water market takes off. With a broad portfolio of long-term framework agreements in place, we are ideally placed to help our clients deliver on the challenges facing them over the coming years - whether that is reducing leakage, improving water quality, or improving the environment and levels of service to their customers.
Our Water business employs around 1000 highly skilled and motivated people working on projects for all the water and sewerage companies across the UK, and most of the water-only companies. We deliver a full range of end-to-end water and wastewater services including data collection and analytics; modelling and risk analysis/optimisation; data visualisation and mapping; artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions; feasibility studies; outline and detailed design of capital solutions; and development of optimised, risk-based, operational interventions.

What you’ll be doing:
- Leading a 3-person team
- Installing and maintaining flow survey equipment including flow monitors, rain gauges, and depth monitors.
- Gathering data from sewer flows during dry weather and wet weather events to help major utility companies plan, design, and implement new drainage systems to alleviate flooding.
Who we’re looking for?
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to complete paperwork accurately and annotate plans
- Previous experience in a drainage-related role, coupled with the ability to accurately navigate the drainage network using the GIS mapping provided
- Detailed knowledge of public sewer networks
- Excellent problem-solving and accurate record-keeping capabilities
- Demonstrable track record of reliability and flexibility
- Full UK driving licence
- Flow survey experience is preferred although candidates with a strong drainage background and the willingness to learn new skills will be considered.
Health and Safety
This role will involve:
- Moving heavy items including manhole covers
- Entering sewers
- Working in all weather conditions (this could include night work also)
