We are searching for an experienced Associate/Senior Associate Planner at our Edinburgh – Atholl Exchange facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
RPS is looking for an Associate/Senior Associate Planner to join our Planning team to be based in Belfast, Glasgow, or Edinburgh. The role offers opportunities to work on varied projects, primarily in the renewables sector, providing valuable experience in town planning across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Although focused on renewables, there will be opportunities to work on major infrastructure projects and support the delivery of office, retail, or residential schemes.

A typical day could include:
- Supporting Planning Directors in delivering their caseloads
- Engaging in business development initiatives
- Supporting senior staff and junior team members
- Leading bid proposals and tender submissions
- Assisting with public consultations and representing RPS at public events
- Monitoring committee and hearing attendances
Who we’re looking for
- A fully qualified RTPI chartered town planner
- Experience in the renewables sector (wind, solar, BESS, etc.)
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Passion for planning, development, and environmental issues
- Good knowledge of planning policy and emerging trends
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Market awareness and understanding of local planning issues
