Assistant Utilities Inspector

RPS has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Utilities Inspector to work for the Asset Management team to Inspect and feedback on the condition of Assets and Infrastructure to achieve the goals of the Water Consulting Business Stream across the UK.

This is an exciting growth area for RPS, with award of the Scottish Water Asset Inspection framework being a recent example of current opportunities across the UK.

About The Team:

RPS Water Consulting is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development, to our Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This is an evolving industry, providing challenges and opportunities that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork to help us meet our clients’ needs.

Our Water Consultancy business has a range of prestigious AMP8 programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, where you’ll be securing your career for the next 20 years, leaving a lasting legacy!

About You:

As a key member of the Water Consultancy business, your role as Assistant Utilities Inspector is critical to helping us deliver great projects for our Water Industry clients. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of water project experts on a range of capital delivery projects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and report on Water and Sewage Infrastructure Assets.
  • Write up Inspection Reports.
  • Capturing features and relevant information related to the provision of health & safety measures and structural conditions.
  • Execute additional tasks to meet team Asset Management framework objectives.
  • Working to policies and procedures.
  • Meet KPIs and grow the business.
  • Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Experience in Civil/Structural Engineering Inspection and Water site work would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of Health and safety culture and its application.
  • Experience in Inspecting structural features, pipe bridges, and pipe tunnels, along a pipeline would also be beneficial.
  • Civil/Structural Engineering Inspection skillsets from other utilities will be considered.
  • IT skills are essential as all inspection reporting is electronic as well as familiarity with the MS 365 suite of programs.
