RPS has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Utilities Inspector to work with the Asset Management team, inspecting and providing feedback on the condition of assets and infrastructure to support the Water Consulting Business Stream across the UK.
This role is part of a growing area for RPS, exemplified by recent awards such as the Scottish Water Asset Inspection framework.

RPS Water Consulting consists of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts delivering Asset Management and Operational Strategy services to water industry clients, supporting business planning and delivery. This evolving industry offers challenges and opportunities requiring innovation, dedication, and teamwork.
Our water consultancy manages prestigious AMP8 programs leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career stability.
About You:
As a key member of our team, your role will be critical in delivering projects for water industry clients, working alongside a multidisciplinary team on capital delivery projects. Joining us means engaging in impactful work that benefits communities and leaves a legacy.
Your Responsibilities:
- Inspect and report on Water and Sewage Infrastructure Assets.
- Write Inspection Reports.
- Capture features and relevant information related to health & safety measures and structural conditions.
- Perform additional tasks to meet Asset Management framework objectives.
- Follow policies and procedures.
- Meet KPIs and contribute to business growth.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Experience in Civil/Structural Engineering Inspection and water site work preferred.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Experience inspecting structural features, pipe bridges, and pipelines is beneficial.
- Civil/Structural Inspection skills from other utilities are considered.
- Proficiency in IT and familiarity with MS 365 suite.
