About The Design Business:
RPS Design Division delivers projects across multiple, niche sectors from residential housing developments, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centres, energy and more as we strive to achieve the right balance between form and function when faced with competing priorities around sustainability, materiality, cost and constructability. What you’ll be doing:
You will be working closely with the team Director and supporting the project lead. You will be responsible for the day-to-day design and management of design / drawing production to assist in the technical delivery of projects. Additionally you will:

Produce structural designs of residential and mixed use projects of varying scale and complexity working individually or as part of a design team.

Site visits and undertake structural surveys, investigation and repair schemes for structures from fires to foundation issues.

Assist the Associate Director / Director in management of structural engineering team projects.

Independent management of projects / project team.

Have financial responsibility for own projects.

Preparation of fee quotations / invoicing.

Management of staff and other consultants.

Further develop the team of engineers and technicians.

Working in collaboration with senior stakeholders and clients.
To be successful in this role you will most likely have a degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering and will ideally be working towards chartership or already chartered with ICE, or IStructE or equivalent.

Experienced in the design of foundations, masonry, concrete including detailing, steel and timber structures to Eurocodes.

Experienced in the residential market including traditional construction as well as framed structures.

Show market commercial awareness with knowledge in financial management of projects and good communication skills.

Preferably experienced in structural investigations of low-medium rise residential structures and reporting in relation to the ‘Building Safety Act’.

Be familiar with relevant design software, such as Tekla software (Tekla designer and Tedds) and ideally with AutoCAD/Revit.

Ability to make decisions / work independently.
