Our Welsh Water's asset management and delivery professionals develop and deliver industry-leading solutions in flooding, pollution, water quality, and leakage. Our teams find and repair leaks on the network to minimise water wastage, which is good for Welsh Water customers and the environment.
About You: As a key member of the Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) business, your role as Area Team Leader is critical to our strategic priorities - to deliver great work for our clients by providing excellent customer service and executing complex operational tasks. Whether you are just starting out or taking the next step in your career, this position provides an opportunity for you to progress with RPS. You will need to work flexibly, working weekends, evenings, and overtime if required. Be willing to travel to different locations. It is essential that you enjoy working outdoors, as come rain or shine, you will mostly be outside.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as a point of contact for site staff - ALC and Logging Inspectors
- Taking responsibility for Risk Assessment and Health & Safety Management
- The analysis and driving of Health & Safety performance
- Completing quarterly SBWIBEST - Completing best observations and highlighting trends
- Delivering monthly toolbox talks and safety alerts
- Leading a team of 8-10 field-based staff on a day-to-day basis to deliver outstanding client care, customer service, technical excellence, and project outcomes
- Ensuring compliance of all teams to approved technical procedures and management of the Company's Integrated Management System
- Produce clear and up-to-date status reports from day-to-day leakage delivery
- Analysis and continuous improvement of leakage team's performance - highlighting performance trends and reporting
- Assisting site staff to locate and promote leakage jobs
- Mentor and train field staff to maintain continued improvement
- Tracking and driving the performance of Field staff
- Formalisation and submission of incident and accident reports
- Ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner
- An individual with a strong commitment to Health and Safety
- A successful track record of leading a team, with a strong management style and the ability to motivate, influence, negotiate and performance manage
- A strong Customer Service ethos and track record
- Experience of meeting strict client and company targets
- Excellent IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work to deadlines and achieve targets
- Clear and fluent communication skills, both written and oral
- A working knowledge of working within Utilities and Water Distribution is advantageous.
- Flexible, willing to work nights and overtime
Qualifications:
- Full UK Driving Licence
