RPS, a Tetra Tech company is looking for an experienced Senior/Principal Sustainability Consultant to be based in Abingdon or London.
About the Team
Our EIA & Sustainability team are experts in their field. We provide practical sustainability advice to small and large organisations concerning (including real estate, waste, timber, energy and infrastructure etc.) Corporate Sustainability strategy, ESG and Net Zero Carbon (NZC) strategies, sustainability benchmarking and reporting (CDP, GRESB, TCFD, etc.).

What you will be doing:
Working as part of our Internal Net Zero Carbon Group improving our approach to tackling some of the most challenging issues we face today, you will be responsible for managing a variety of projects within a consultancy environment on sustainability principles (including climate change) at both asset and corporate levels. A typical week working within the team might include:
• Primary point of contact to new and existing clients.
• Complete climate change assessments for development projects, quantifying greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, evaluating climate resilience and adaptation, and preparing Environmental Statement chapters.
• Drafting reports, including technical statements such as climate change chapters and GHG assessments, sustainability and corporate/NZC strategy and roadmaps
• Give expert advice to private and public sector organisations on NZC strategies, emission reduction actions and disclosure of GHG emissions and climate risks to UK and international reporting standards.
• Provision of advice regarding all aspects of sustainability including legal requirements, policy and guidance.
• Strategy and disclosure reports in line with benchmark and sustainability standards including SECR, TCFD, TNFD and IFRS.
• Working to mentor, supervise and manage junior or new members of the team.
• Preparation of bid/tender documents with our bid team.
Who we are looking for:
• Experience in the sector and have worked in the environmental field responsible for delivering and supervising technical delivery of Projects for a wide variety of clients and sectors.
• Knowledgeable and able to advise clients on GHG reduction actions and quantifying emissions robustly
• Used to being in a client-facing role, ideally in a consultancy environment
• Experience in climate change and carbon footprint, Sustainability and ESG reporting
• Ability to personally deliver technical assessments accurately and to provide high quality reporting. s.
• Experience either of the EIA process and policy for development projects, and/or experience of developing low-carbon strategies at an organisational level.
Qualifications:
You\'ll have a relevant degree (or equivalent) and typically an MSc or further qualification in Sustainability, Climate Change, EIA or environmental management.
