We have a forthcoming permanent vacancy for a Practice Nurse to work two days per week (three days negotiable). The role involves delivering practice nursing services within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on infection prevention, health promotion, chronic disease management, and supporting clinical policy review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing services to the practice population, including chronic disease treatment, screening, and advice.
  • Conduct treatment room sessions, manage patients, arrange follow-up, liaise with other team members.
  • Administer injections, immunisations, ear syringing, dressings, minor injuries.
  • Assist medical colleagues with minor surgical procedures and contraceptive device fitting.
  • Telephone advice, referrals, chaperone examinations as required.
  • Perform phlebotomy and venepuncture as needed.
  • Lead chronic disease management and health promotion sessions.
  • Maintain infection control measures, stock checks, health & safety.
  • Support clinical governance, training, mentorship.

Person Specification:

Experience (Essential):

  • Working in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical system software.
  • Public/patient engagement experience.
  • Multi-skilled chronic disease management approach.
  • Demonstrated performance on the Quality & Outcomes Framework.

Desirable:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses.

Qualifications (Essential):

  • NMC Registration.
  • Diploma (e.g., Nursing Diploma).
