Role Overview

The team RPC has a highly successful, award winning commercial and technology practice. We are top ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 2025 for Advertising and Marketing and Commercial Contracts; described as "an excellent team of subject-matter experts […] well equipped to support on complex matters" (Chambers 2025).

We handle a varied, dynamic and often high-profile workload for clients across a range of sectors but with a particular emphasis on TME, fintech, retail and consumer brands and retail and business support services. Working on transformational and cutting-edge projects, we cover the full spectrum of:

  • adtech and related adtech data matters

The role

We are looking for a commercial, technology and outsourcing associate (c. 2-4 PQE). The ideal candidate will be an excellent technical lawyer, with a commercial approach to negotiations and resolving issues.

You will have an opportunity to be involved in a selection of work, including supporting on commercial contracts, core technology contracts (such as cloud computing, systems development and digital transformation), advertising and marketing, adtech and related adtech data matters and outsourcing (whether BPO, IT or otherwise). You will work across sectors, with a particular focus on contracts and negotiations in the context of the retail & consumer, TME, digital, business support services and fintech.

Experience In The Following Will Also Be Valued:

  • general commercial contracts e.g., supply of goods and/or services (B2B and B2C), agency, distribution, joint ventures and collaboration agreements and payment service agreements
  • advertising and marketing including regulatory investigations
  • general technology and advisory work (e.g. the regulation of the use of AI)
  • IP and data protection experience
  • commercial and technology M&A transactions (including acquisitions and divestments and joint ventures)

You will be a proactive and collaborative member of the team who will be excited by the prospect of helping to grow this important area of the firm's business.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • 2-4 years of PQE or equivalent relevant expertise in commercial contracts, technology and outsourcing and preferably with experience in advertising and marketing, adtech and adtech data matters.
  • Delivers legal and commercial solutions and establishes collaborative working relationships with clients and colleagues to provide an outstanding client experience.
  • Supports the team to manage the client experience, develops trusted relationships and interacts with clients confidently to achieve the best outcome for the client.
  • Committed to business development to further grow their network and the practice.
  • Works efficiently and commercially and understands the importance of financial hygiene.
  • Collaborative and works effectively in a team.
  • Understands how to develop junior team members and support their ambitions.
