Senior Technical Consultant

At RPC, we help organisations to deliver complex, high profile projects by putting robust, practical project controls systems in place. As demand for our services continues to grow, we’re expanding our technical delivery capability and are looking to welcome a Senior Technical Consultant to our team.

The Senior Technical Consultant supports the successful design, configuration, implementation and adoption of technology-enabled solutions for RPC clients, with a particular focus on the Oracle Primavera Suite of applications. The role combines consultancy, technical expertise and customer engagement to translate business requirements into effective solutions that deliver measurable value for clients and support successful project outcomes.

You’ll be involved throughout the delivery lifecycle – from requirements and design, through configuration and testing, to knowledge transfer and handover. While much of our work is delivered remotely in a hybrid model, some travel within the UK (and occasionally further afield) is expected to support customer workshops, key delivery phases and on‑site collaboration when it adds real value.

Due to the nature of our work and the sensitive markets that we operate in, applicants must be eligible to be security cleared to SC level.

Key Accountabilities

Solution Design & Technical Consultancy

Through understanding a customer’s business, functional and technical requirements, you will contribute to the development of solution architectures and requirements documentation to create practical, deliverable solution designs and then provide professional consultancy input throughout the project lifecycle to implement these.

Technology Implementation & Quality Assurance

You will configure, test and support implementation of technology solutions, ensuring they align with agreed customer requirements, quality standards and project objectives while contributing to the continuous improvement of implementation approaches and standards.

Customer Success & Knowledge Transfer

A key part of the delivery process is supporting customers through workshops, demonstrations, training and handover activities that enable successful adoption of implemented solutions. The Senior Technical Consultant role involves building effective customer relationships and communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Business Development & Pre-Sales Support

Senior Technical Consultants contribute technical expertise to proposals, bid responses, demonstrations and customer-facing materials to support the sales process and Business Development team by communicating the value and practical application of RPC solutions in a clear and commercially aware manner.

Professional Practice & Continuous Improvement

Your professional growth will be driven by maintaining technical expertise in Oracle Primavera and related technologies, applying professional, legal and data protection standards throughout delivery. Our Senior Technical Consultants are a key part of the team, contributing to knowledge sharing, team development, delivery improvements and the ongoing enhancement of RPC's methods, standards and capabilities.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Working with customers to understand business, functional and technical requirements.
• Producing requirements, technical design and supporting documentation.
• Implementing, configuring or supporting Oracle Primavera solutions or other similar industry enterprise solutions
• Contributing to technology implementation projects and testing activities.
• Communicating with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Understanding of solution delivery, technical governance and customer-focused technology implementation.

Desirable

• Working within IT consultancy, enterprise systems implementation or digital transformation environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, Primavera Cloud, Primavera Unifier or related Oracle Primavera products.
• Leading workstreams or defined areas of technical delivery.
• Integrating Primavera or project controls solutions with wider enterprise applications.
• Oracle, project management, business analysis or related professional certifications.
• Contributing to proposals, demonstrations, business development or pre-sales activities.
