Full-time Permanent Position (Monday to Friday, 37-Hours Per Week), 9:30am Start. Based in North London, easily accessible by public transport. Competitive Basic Annual Salary (based on experience).

Overview:

This is a challenging role that will require just the right person with a technical background and understanding of engineering part structures, an eye for detail, with a get-stuck-in hands-on style. Using a firm pragmatic approach, with a strong voice to ensure quality standards are met. You will be part of a company working on extraordinary high-tech products at the limits of physics, a solid customer structure, a broad portfolio with social added value, international collaboration, and cross-functional team support.

This position will have sole responsibility for the release and change control of technical data within the business Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), and configuration of related processes and procedures. You will develop and maintain the Configuration Management process, responsible for creating and maintaining project configuration plans and bid submissions. Supporting QMS activities, and IFS Cloud Applications 11 ERP system.

Challenging Job Functions:

  • Administer the daily release and change control of technical data within the business ERP system and coordinate the authorisation process, including engineering part structures, bills of materials, drawings, documents, software, etc.
  • Manage the end-to-end change and deviation request process.
  • Function as a technical focal point for matters relating to ERP controlled documents and parts, such as change requests, deviations, build standard definitions, engineering part revisions, etc.
  • Develop and maintain the Configuration Management processes, procedures, and daily ERP configuration control, providing training and guidance.
  • Create and maintain ERP document basic data, such as approval templates, document classes, document numbering, etc.
  • Maximize configuration functionality within the ERP system for improved efficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain methods to cleanse legacy part and document data within the ERP system.
  • Produce Configuration plans and submissions in support of new contract proposals and project life cycle.
  • Attend software release meetings and maintain ERP version control and the software repository.
  • Attend design review and release meetings, as appropriate.
  • Maintain Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register membership on behalf of the business.
  • Maintain documents relating to ongoing certification to ISO and other Marine Equipment Directives, Module D etc.
  • Take a key role in the implementation of ERP system improvements, phased testing and upgrade projects.
  • Support to QMS audit program.

Essential Requirements:

  • Fluent English (both verbal and written).
  • Eligible to work in the UK on a full-time permanent basis.
  • Excellent document creation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of IFS Cloud Applications 11.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
  • Auditor experience ISO 9001:2015.
  • Will need to pass DBS security and employment reference checks.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in configuration management or control, preferably in a similar manufacturing industry or company undertaking MoD / Defence type contracts.
  • Experience of working with ERP systems (such as IFS Cloud Applications 11, SAP 4 HANA, etc.).
  • Project management skills.
