My client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Blockchain Engineer to join our growing tokenization company. You will play a critical role in designing and building scalable, secure infrastructure for tokenized assets, leveraging modern web technologies (Next.js) and cloud-native architectures (AWS).

This role requires deep expertise in Rust-based smart contract development, strong familiarity with Layer 2 (L2) ecosystems, and the ability to build lean, in-house solutions without over-reliance on third-party tooling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop tokenization infrastructure for real-world and digital assets
  • Build and maintain smart contracts in Rust (e.g., Soroban or similar frameworks)
  • Architect and implement L2-integrated systems (rollups, bridges, settlement layers)
  • Develop backend services and APIs using Node.js / Next.js
  • Deploy and manage scalable systems on AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, etc.)
  • Create secure, performant systems with strong attention to key management and custody flows
  • Collaborate with product and frontend teams to deliver seamless user experiences
  • Optimize systems for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability
  • Contribute to internal tooling and infrastructure with a build-over-buy mindset
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong proficiency in Rust
  • Experience building smart contracts using Soroban or comparable Rust-based frameworks
  • Solid understanding of token standards, custody, and tokenization models
  • Hands-on experience with Layer 2 solutions (e.g., rollups, zk systems, optimistic L2s)
  • Familiarity with blockchain architecture, consensus, and security best practices
  • Experience with Next.js / Node.js (API routes, server-side rendering, etc.)
  • Strong experience with AWS (serverless and container-based architectures)
  • Experience designing distributed systems and microservices
  • Database experience (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or similar)
Engineering Mindset:
  • Proven ability to build lean, internal solutions rather than relying on heavy external dependencies
  • Strong system design skills with a focus on simplicity and scalability
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, early-stage environments
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Stellar ecosystem / Soroban specifically
  • Knowledge of zero-knowledge proofs or zk-rollups
  • Experience with custody solutions, MPC, or wallet infrastructure
  • Familiarity with DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
  • Frontend experience with React / Next.js (full-stack capability)
What Success Looks Like:
  • You deliver robust tokenization infrastructure that scales with minimal overhead
  • You design systems that are secure by default, especially around asset handling
  • You reduce reliance on third-party services by building efficient in-house tools
  • You help establish engineering best practices across blockchain and cloud systems

This is an excellent role paying up to £100K.
