We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Platform Architect to support a strategic consulting engagement for a leading retail client. This project focuses on defining a target operating model (TOM) and guiding technology and capability decisions across two existing cloud data platforms: Azure/Databricks and AWS/Snowflake.
You will assess how data should be integrated across platforms, evaluate existing tooling investments, and provide recommendations across architecture, cost, and capability. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement with senior architects and platform owners, alongside the ability to deliver thought leadership grounded in analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating platform capabilities
- Assessing workforce skills
- Reviewing licensing and consumption costs
- Analysing product maturity
- Ensuring cloud portability
You will contribute to shaping a scalable, efficient, and future-ready data ecosystem aligned to retail use cases.
Candidates must have proven experience in technology consulting across Snowflake and Databricks, with exposure to at least two hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Strong knowledge of infrastructure, DevOps, governance, and cost optimisation is essential. Experience delivering enterprise data platforms and retail-focused data applications is highly desirable.
