Are you an AWS Developer with a passion for building robust API ecosystems? We are seeking a skilled developer to join our London-based Platform Team, playing a pivotal role in the development and integration of our core API Gateway technologies, including Apigee.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a developer who enjoys deep technical integration work and wants to focus on creating scalable, well-documented API services that power our entire organisation. If you have strong experience in Java and Node.js and are familiar with the full API lifecycle, we want to hear from you.
The Role:
As an AWS Developer in our Platform Team, you will work directly under the Product Architect. Your primary focus will be on development and integration tasks, ensuring our API services are reliable, performant, and seamlessly integrated across our AWS infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain AWS components and integrations to support our API services.
- Work extensively with API Gateway technologies, with a strong emphasis on Apigee.
- Develop and define APIs using OpenAPI specifications.
- Collaborate with platform architects and engineering teams to deliver seamless integration solutions.
- Utilise Git for source control and Jenkins/GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with data persistence layers including MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Assist in performance tuning, monitoring, and automation of API-related services.
- Contribute to technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing across teams.
What We\’re Looking For (Must-Haves):
- Strong development experience in Java and Node.js.
- Hands-on, professional experience with API Gateway technologies, especially Apigee.
- Proficiency in creating and managing OpenAPI specifications.
- Strong recent experience with Git and familiarity with Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
- Relevant database experience with MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Excellent collaboration and verbal/written communication skills.
- Based in and around London, with ability to work on-site 40% of the time.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Solid experience in AWS development and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with other middleware and integration platforms.
- Security Clearance (SC) would be a bonus, but is not required.
