Main Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Site Crafts Team Supervisor, flexibility is required to provide cover outside normal working hours, including shifts and weekends when necessary. Please note that this role involves working in confined spaces, at height, and in all weather conditions. In addition to maintenance duties, you may be required to support other site functions, including operations teams, storekeeping activities, and general site duties as allocated.
Key Responsibilities
- Help ensure the Power Station remains a safe place to work and actively contribute to its safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation.
- Take responsibility for the quality of your work and accurately record completed activities using the station’s computerised work management system (SAP).
- Make recommendations for future maintenance activities where appropriate.
- Report all safety and environmental issues immediately.
- Maintain productivity levels in line with business requirements while ensuring high-quality workmanship and excellent housekeeping standards throughout and at the completion of work.
- Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance activities relevant to your discipline, as directed by the Chargehand or Supervisor.
- Develop an understanding of station processes, including stores procedures, spare parts management, quality assurance systems, and maintenance management systems.
- Take a proactive approach to improving maintenance activities and support station maintenance and operations as required.
- Work closely with maintenance engineers and technicians to investigate and resolve recurring or unusual faults.
