About the role

Reporting to the Optimised Production Leader, you will manage a team of administration staff responsible for leading the production of an accurate traffic forecast and to support the efficient daily, weekly and monthly resourcing of the Plant. Ensuring all traffic data recording and reporting is robust and to business standards you will be expected to hit business targets. You will need to work with shift managers across the plant to find innovative new ways of working to ensure staffing solutions are cost effective and robust plans are in place for seasonal events to ensure clearances are maintained. The role will involve a high level of continuous improvements to keep the business competitive.

Please Note: Although the scheduled hours for this role will be between 07:00 - 16:00 there will be significant need for flexibility to work around business needs, including late and weekend shifts particularly around peak periods.

About you

We are looking for an organised, analytical thinker used to dealing with large volumes of data who also has experience of change management. In order to excel in this role you must be a flexible, hard-working and creative individual with a can do attitude who can work to tight deadlines and challenging targets. Although leadership skills are important as a manager we are more focused on your ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels across the business.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • A degree in Maths or equivalent would be beneficial but if you have extensive experience and knowledge of working in a production or finance environment this is not essential.
  • As this is an extremely interesting and varied role, we are looking for candidates who are flexible, can work under pressure and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

Shift patterns: Monday - Friday 41 hours a week between 07:00 - 16:00

Assessment process

Your face to face assessment is designed to enable you to showcase your suitability for management positions within Royal Mail. You will take part in a capability-based interview and a short management scenario exercise more details of which will be provided on the day.
