Senior Event Manager – Delivering Immersive Experiences with Strategic Impact for a Top-Tier Agency

On behalf of our highly-regarded client, a premier events agency known for delivering high-quality, creative experiences, we are recruiting a Project Manager. This is a chance to step into a role that demands full accountability and commercial awareness while turning strategic visions into flawlessly executed, large-scale live, virtual, and hybrid events.

What’s Different About This Role?

Our client is seeking a Project Manager who acts as a true business owner. You won\’t just follow a brief; you\’ll be the central strategic and operational lead responsible for the success of projects, from initial scoping to final reconciliation. This role places a strong emphasis on the \’red thread\’—ensuring every creative concept and deliverable is always aligned with the client\’s core strategic objectives. You will hold full financial accountability for substantial project budgets (minimum £100k spend) and be expected to maintain maximum commercial profitability alongside exceptional quality.

What You’ll Bring: Your Agency Expertise

Our client is looking for a calm, confident, and commercially savvy leader with:

  • Proven Project Leadership: 3–5+ years of dedicated project management experience within an agency or event production environment, with strong client-facing responsibility.
  • Scale & Scope Expertise: Demonstrated ability to independently lead and deliver complex live, virtual, and hybrid events with a minimum spend of £100,000 and 250+ delegates.
  • Commercial Acumen: A strong grasp of financial management, including meticulous budget creation, cost tracking, PO management, and accurate post-event reconciliation (managing scope and maximizing margin).
  • Operational Depth: Solid understanding of technical production, AV, content creation, and working with creative teams to deliver immersive concepts.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of confidently leading client interactions and managing diverse supplier teams (freelancers, venues, production partners).
  • The Right Mindset: You are highly organized, proactive, and thrive on solving problems calmly under pressure. You \’obsess over the 1%\’ and are driven by quality and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do: The Core Responsibilities

As the dedicated Project Manager, you will be the core driver of project success across all phases:

  • End-to-End Delivery: Take full accountability for projects, managing the entire lifecycle from brief, strategic alignment, and production planning through to on-site leadership and post-event reporting.
  • Supplier & Team Lead: Source, brief, appoint, and lead all external suppliers (venues, AV, freelancers) and internal team members, ensuring clear scopes of work, contracts, and deadlines are met.
  • Financial Ownership: Own and manage detailed project budgets from proposal through to reconciliation, actively monitoring spend, flagging risks, and ensuring profitability.
  • Production & Content Management: Translate creative vision into practical production briefs, coordinate technical teams, manage venue logistics (site visits, reporting), and oversee the run-of-show and speaker content delivery.
  • Client Partnership: Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, providing clear, confident guidance and acting as the main point of communication throughout the project.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead on-site execution, problem-solve confidently, and ensure all deliverables adhere to compliance, brand guidelines, and high operational standards.

Why You’ll Love It: The Agency Environment

Our client is a highly respected agency that values creativity, quality, and accountability. This role offers significant autonomy and the chance to lead genuinely high-impact, creative experiences for major brands. They foster a culture of continuous improvement where your proactive nature and commitment to detail are highly valued. You\’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team, based centrally in Leicestershire (Hybrid working), that champions excellence in every project.
