Royale West Football Club has been created as a youth grassroots football club which provides professional coaching services to boys and girls of all abilities.
We are seeking passionate, football-minded individuals to join us a Lead Football Coach for our U9\'s age group - you will be the manager of your own team.
Our long-term vision is to have multiple teams in each age group, for both the boys\' and girls\' game, where players can attend our Sunday league football club knowing that the quality of coaching is excellent and can compliment their other football training (such as at 1-2-1s, JPL regional talent centres or Pre-Academies). We have specialist Goalkeeper coaches and Player Development Portals to maximise your team\'s development.
We have internal coaching courses to improve and challenge you as a coach, refining your skills, opening doors to further opportunities in the game should you wish to progress, as well as considerable resources to help you deliver great training practices to help your players and team develop.
Our training is based in BS4 and games based centrally in BS5. The ideal candidate will be coming in to work immediately with our U9 players for one session per week from December - February, then also managing fixtures on Sundays from Spring 2026. You will be given a Support Coach to work alongside you.
Responsibilities
- Undertake internal courses to deliver club-standard training sessions
- Plan and deliver weekly training sessions
- Organise and lead competitive matches, ensuring that all logistical aspects are managed effectively - games predominantly on Sundays
- Foster our culture of optimism, positivity and passion
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and other coaching staff regarding player development and team activities.
Qualifications
Essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and motivate athletes of varying skill levels.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating leadership qualities.
- A commitment to continuous personal development in coaching practices is essential.
- Able to pass an Enhanced DBS check.
- Has character and passion for football and wants to channel that energy into developing great young football players.
- Driver\'s license and car
- FA Level 1 in Coaching

This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about football coaching and wish to make a significant impact on the lives of young athletes through education and sport.
As a new club, there is certainly room for an individual to bring their ideas to life, to be part of something we hope will be ground-breaking, as well as take on additional paid opportunities, such as having a development/B-team that is training-only until ready for matches, working at our holiday football club camps, or building your own 1-2-1 coaching business using the resources at the club.
For one training session and one game per week, we are offering between £80 - £200 per month (including pay when teams are off-season, in half-terms, or you have holidays or sickness - we want to be somewhere that values its coaches) depending on your experience and progress internally. This can be further increased with additional responsibilities or hours.
