This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 12 months.
The Band 6 senior staff nurse acts as a role model in accordance to the trust behavior framework and values, exhibiting excellence through practice and collaborating on a daily basis with the MDT team for best outcomes for our patient group.
The Endoscopy day unit is open Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 18:30 offering a range of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures including the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
We are looking for a hard working and competent endoscopy Senior Staff Nurse to cover a 12 month secondment.
The post would suit a nurse who is keen to develop their professional profile-someone who recognize opportunities for improvements and is a motivator to drive forward changes within the department.
A nurse keen to develop their management skills, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and motivated to develop skills and training appropriate to the role.
The endoscopy unit consists of a multidisciplinary team and we encourage all our staff to develop their clinical, managerial and leadership skills in a positive learning environment.

Main duties of the job
Provide a leadership role model and demonstrate specialist knowledge and high standards of clinical practice and provide support where necessary.
Coordinating shifts, managing unit flow and problem solving in a fast paced environment.
Managing and monitoring workload, patient acuity and ensuring safe standards on a daily basis.
Supporting junior members of the team, providing excellent leadership, support and guidance through monitoring and planning and evaluation of individualized care, ensuring appraisals are up to date and engaging with staff retention.
Supporting ward sister in ward level management and trust initiatives.
You should be a positive team player who has empathy and compassion, that has an ability to work effectively within a MDT team, with the skills to work under pressure, delegate well and interest in promoting a clean, safe, environment for our patients and their families.
Ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all patients and their families, ensuring good communication between health care professionals for the patient\’s individual needs.
