The Royal Yachting Association, based in Hamble, near Southampton, is the national governing body for all forms of recreational, competitive and professional boating. It represents dinghy and yacht racing, motor and sail cruising, RIBs and sports boats, windsurfing, inland cruising, and personal watercraft.

Salary: £23,250 - £30,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Hamble (Hybrid)

You will:

  • Have a passion for delivering the best possible solutions through design and technology
  • Be familiar with both design and front-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries
  • Have a natural enthusiasm for technology and keep up to date with the latest trends
  • Have the drive to become highly competent in all aspects of maintaining a content managed website

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Front-End Designer with day-to-day digital amends, page builds and projects.
  • Provide design support, page builds and content edits, in line with UX/UI best practice, to RYA internal stakeholders
  • Proactively make suggestions to improve accessibility, customer journeys, site functionality and overall site performance

Essential:

  • Experience updating websites via a CMS
  • Self-motivated and resilient under pressure
  • Creating and editing web pages
  • Ability to follow content templates and brand guidelines
  • A team player who can work independently when needed
  • A natural passion for technology and user-focused solutions

Desirable:

  • Some knowledge or an understanding of enterprise CMS platforms
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS or frameworks used for UI and styling
  • Awareness of responsive design
  • Ability to troubleshoot simple page issues
