Location: Hamble, Southampton
We are seeking an experienced and proactive People Advisor to join our team on a part-time basis to provide maternity cover. This role plays a key part in ensuring the effective delivery of HR services across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, providing advice in line with employment legislation and internal policies.
- Administer people-related correspondence, including contracts, offer letters and benefits information.
- Create, support and lead learning and development activities.
- Manage employee relations casework, including performance, conduct and absence matters.
- Support the end‑to‑end recruitment process, including advertising, interviewing and onboarding.
- Maintain and update the online People system, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date employee records.
- Coordinate the employee survey and support follow‑up action planning.
- Support managers with appraisal processes and learning and development requests.
- Assist with People projects and initiatives, working closely with the Head of People and external HR consultants.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- CIPD qualified (Level 3 or above).
- 3‑5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role.
- Proven generalist HR experience, ideally supporting multiple departments.
- Strong working knowledge of current employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and HR databases/systems.
