As summer has arrived, the sailing season is now upon us, and preparations continue for the historic Cowes 200 celebrations. The Royal Yacht Squadron is recruiting Casual Seasonal Servers and Bartenders to join our House Team. This is an opportunity to work within one of the world’s most respected private members’ clubs during a landmark year for Cowes and the Club.
Eligibility & Compliance
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom and legally permitted to serve alcohol in accordance with UK licensing law. All team members are expected to operate in full compliance with the Club’s licensing conditions, responsible alcohol service standards, safeguarding expectations and professional conduct policies at all times. The Royal Yacht Squadron is committed to maintaining a professional, respectful and safe working environment.
Flexibility & Working Environment
This is a flexible, event-led hospitality environment. Hours will vary in line with regattas, private functions and Club events. Applicants must be adaptable and available when business levels require, including weekdays, weekends, extended shifts and late finishes. Applicants should be comfortable:
- Serving alcohol, wine and cocktails within a licensed hospitality environment
- Working shifts longer than 8 hours when operationally required
- Adapting to changing schedules during peak regatta and event periods
- Maintaining professionalism, composure and attention to detail under pressure
- Delivering high standards of member and guest service at all times

Role Details
Casual Seasonal Positions Based in Cowes, Isle of Wight Summer 2026, with potential continuation into the wider sailing season. Competitive hourly pay. Hourly rates increase upon successful completion of 100 working hours. Hospitality experience preferred, but attitude and professionalism are equally important.
