Join Royal Voluntary Service as an Executive Assistant to support our Chief Knowledge Officer and future Chief Marketing Officer. This full‑time, permanent position is work from home with national travel.

About the Role

Royal Voluntary Service is a historic charity that mobilises volunteers to support individuals, local communities and public health services across the UK. The Executive Assistant will play a key role in representing the Chief Knowledge Officer, ensuring they are fully briefed and supported across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the CKO/CMO’s time, diary and inbox, ensuring the Chiefs are always in the right place and fully briefed.
  • Prepare itineraries, agendas and papers for meetings, including board meeting cycles.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all external enquiries, managing email, telephone calls and post.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and organisational tasks such as booking meeting rooms, arranging team events, and minute‑taking.
  • Provide administrative support for the Knowledge/Marketing Directorate.
  • Assist in the management of department meetings, including minutes and action tracking.
  • Develop and maintain information systems and handle monthly expenses.
  • Support with purchase orders, project management and cover for other EAs as required.
  • Triage complaints and compliments, resolving them within the RVS policy framework.
  • Manage projects, facilitate programmes and support other members of the chief executive group.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships and act with influencing skills.

What We’re Looking For

Knowledge
Extensive knowledge of business administration, gained through relevant qualification or experience; willingness to undertake training and development.

Skills
High level of writing, resilience, organisational and decision‑making skills; excellent communication across multiple channels; proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams; digital literacy and use of AI tools; experience of marketing and social media platforms; problem‑solving and diplomacy.

Experience
Recent substantial experience supporting executive‑level directors, ideally as a Personal or Executive Assistant; understanding of PA/secretarial processes; experience working with volunteers; expertise in minute‑taking for board/technical meetings.
