Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Service Coordinator to join our team at Perth & Kinross, 30 Kinnoull Causeway, Perth, PH2 8HQ. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a salary of £13.49 per hour (FTE £24,552 per annum).
The successful candidate would need to live within and work across the Perth & Kinross area.
About the Service Coordinator role:
To coordinate and facilitate groups for older people across Perth & Kinross to relieve loneliness and isolation, including lunch, social and activity clubs in sheltered housing complexes. The role includes:
- Day-to-day coordination of group provision
- Activity planning and delivery
- Refreshments
- Communication with members and venues
- Volunteer recruitment, training and support
- Delivering high-quality activities based on best practice and attendee feedback
- Maintaining accurate data and statistics
Location: You will be working across the Perth & Kinross area. In order to fulfil this role, the successful candidate will need a full valid driving license and access to a vehicle with business use car insurance. Business mileage will be reimbursed via expenses.
Hours: 24 hours per week. Monday - Thursday, working 6 hours per day.
Requirements
- Knowledge: Understanding of the benefit of group settings and activities for older people; A knowledge and experience of dementia (personal and/or professional); Safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Skills: Excellent communication and listening skills; Good organisation and facilitation skills; A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance (mileage paid/reimbursed).
- Experience: Experience of working with older people; Working with people living with dementia and/or their carers will be an advantage; Delivering activities within a group setting; Ability to proficiently use standard IT systems – Microsoft Office/Word/Excel, client database entry and management.
