Pay: £12.43 per hour (FTE £22,638 per annum); part‑time, fixed‑term until 28 February 2026.
Hours: 12 hours per week, 2–3 shifts. Weekend work required; paid overtime may be available.
Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly, helpful and efficient service at all times.
- Welcome customers, inform them about specials or new products, answer questions and accept orders and payments.
- Operate the till and perform cash reconciliation.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with Health and Safety and food‑hygiene standards.
- Replenish stock and ordering supplies as required.
- Prepare hot and cold drinks (café) and serve freshly made food such as cake, sandwiches and pastries.
- Receive and distribute deliveries, rotate stock and assist with regular stock checks.
- Engage and lead volunteers to ensure a great volunteer experience.
- Be prepared to push loaded trolleys of stock for long distances.
Requirements:
- Previous retail or café experience is an advantage; training will be provided.
- Positive attitude, can‑do mindset and willingness to work.
- Outstanding customer‑service skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Familiarity with email use and internet navigation.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Enjoy working within a passionate team of employees and volunteers.
- Proficient literacy and numeracy.
- Knowledge of EPOS/till systems is advantageous.
- Experience with general administrative processes.
- Willingness to undertake training and ongoing professional development.
