The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) invites applications for a Lecturer in Microbiology to join the Department of Pathobiology and Population Sciences. You will be based in the Centre for Emerging, Endemic and Exotic Disease (CEEED); one of the UK's leading centres for research on infectious diseases affecting animals and humans.
The post is suitable for an individual who has completed a PhD in Microbiology or a closely related subject. The successful applicant will have a proven track‑record of high-quality publications and demonstrate the potential to attract external funding in the area of bacterial zoonoses/antimicrobial resistance/veterinary microbiology (bacteriology). The department includes researchers with interests in AMR, One Health, Disease tracking in populations and host‑pathogen interactions and the new role will interface with these areas. The successful applicant will also form strong collaborative links with the two other Departments at RVC, Comparative Biomedical Sciences and Clinical Science and Services.
Applicants must be enthusiastic teachers and will contribute significantly to the delivery and assessment of our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes and develop leadership roles in teaching.
