Job Summary

This is an opportunity to make a difference by supporting colleagues and helping patients in our Oral, Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontic Department. We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and proactive individual who has exceptional multi‑tasking skills to assist the smooth running of a busy reception area and be the first point of contact when patients arrive for their appointments.

Main Duties

  • Reception tasks: greet patients, enter information onto Millennium, book appointments, make/receive telephone calls and perform other administrative duties as required.
  • Work flexibly with ever‑changing priorities while maintaining a cheerful, friendly and flexible approach.

Person Specification

  • Essential
    • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics
    • IT literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
    • The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to patients and staff at a range of levels, including on the telephone
    • Knowledge & prior experience working in the NHS or a similar patient/customer focused environment
  • Desirable
    • Knowledge and previous experience of Trust computer systems (i.e. Millennium)
    • Experience working on a reception desk
