Job Overview
This post is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, qualified Physiotherapist who is keen to progress their career in the field of Paediatrics. The post will provide a broad caseload of children and young people from 0 – 19 with a variety of predominantly orthopaedic, msk or long term neurological problems . The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a flexible team player but also able to work independently. The post is based within the Children`s Therapies department who are a friendly, experienced team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Support Workers. We are currently based at the well resourced Children`s Centre at the Royal United Hospitals Bath. The post holder will be required to work in outpatient and inpatients and will be required to provide their own transport for any required visits to community settings.
Main duties of the job
- To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a specialised paediatric clinical caseload of children and young people 0- 19 years.
- To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service in Outpatient, Community and inpatient ward settings, working without direct supervision.
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner
- Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, clinical reasoning sessions and peer review. Access to advice and support from a more senior physiotherapist is available if required.
