About the Role

The Emergency Department has a busy 24-hour reception area, dealing with patients arriving at the hospital via GP surgeries, ambulance, or self-referral. The department operates 24/7, including bank holidays, and requires staff to support these service hours.

We currently have a part-time receptionist vacancy within a supportive environment alongside an enthusiastic team of receptionists and medical staff.

Requirements

  • Current right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
  • Ability to undertake the role without visa sponsorship, as per UK immigration rules.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide efficient administration and reception services to support the Emergency Department\’s clinical teams.
  2. Deliver front-of-house services to patients and relatives professionally and confidentially.
  3. Handle all telephone and email queries related to the Emergency Department.
  4. Book and direct patients, perform basic triage considering the severity of complaints, and notify clinical staff of arrivals as needed.
  5. Show empathy when dealing with sensitive situations involving patients\’ families or health conditions.
  6. Perform clerical duties independently, prioritising workload using established procedures, and seek support when necessary.
