Estates Maintenance Worker

We\’re looking for a proactive and reliable Estates Maintenance Worker to join our dedicated team at the Royal United Hospital.
In this hands-on role, you\’ll carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the hospital site, helping to ensure our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Undertake general maintenance tasks and minor repair work as directed across the hospital estate.
- Support and assist qualified tradespeople in carrying out maintenance and repair activities.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.
Main duties of the job
- Carry out inspections, tests, repairs, installations, as directed on trust properties, plant and infrastructure.
- Undertake work as identified on works dockets allocated to you completing the works docket legibly in accordance with the Estates procedure.
- Report faults identified either when carrying out routine checks / planned preventative maintenance or in the course of the normal working day.
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance checks and complete report sheets legibly as required, in accordance with trust procedures and policies.
- Identify parts and/or equipment required to carry out designated work and use Estates Stores system to obtain required items in accordance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
- Investigate technical failures as directed and identify the permanent repair required, to ensure ongoing reliability and statutory compliance.
- Assist other estate staff at all levels with technical works and technical problem solving where requested.
- Adhere to the trust procedures where \”permit to work\” is in place
- Book time worked and notes on all jobs using the handheld computerised CAFM system app. Also to use any other computer systems required to undertake works.
