Overview

You will be expected to review patients, arrange investigations, provide appropriate blood product support, review results of investigations on a daily basis and provide timely discharge summaries. Consultant ward rounds are conducted daily.

Responsibilities

  • Review patients and plan investigations as required.
  • Provide appropriate blood product support.
  • Review investigation results on a daily basis and provide timely discharge summaries.
  • Participate in daily consultant ward rounds.
  • Participate in the out of hours rota, 1 in 7 weekend rota. Some out of hours cover is also expected, with arrangements as outlined in the JD.

Education and training

Although not an officially recognised training post, this post will offer an excellent learning environment for training. You will have the same educational opportunities as our rotational GPST doctors.

There is an active audit programme and junior doctors are expected to carry out at least one audit and present their findings during each post. The audit office is keen to offer support, particularly with design and data interpretation.
