Staffing Solutions are seeking Environment Porters to help maintain the hospital site.
The role involves clearing the clinical and non-clinical waste streams for our busy wards and departments to help ensure a positive environment for patients. Good communication skills are essential, as you will work as part of a team across departments within the Trust.
It is essential that you hold a C1 category on your driving licence, as the role involves driving a 7.50 tonne truck around the site to collect general waste bins, cardboard waste bins, and clinical waste bins.
You will be expected to work independently when required, as well as part of a wider team, to ensure the waste service runs smoothly.
The successful candidate will join a busy team responsible for waste and recycling management, including:
- Collection of clinical, domestic, recycling, and other waste items from wards and departments in accordance with the Trust’s Waste Management Policy.
- Segregation of all waste streams prior to collection by waste contractors.
- Weighing and logging of clinical waste bins and electrical appliances.
- Collection of soiled laundry from wards and departments for storage before collection by the laundry supplier.
- Collection and delivery of furniture and equipment from corridors, wards, and departments as per job requests.
