We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Complementary Therapist to join our Therapies Team, as a Complementary Therapy Co‑ordinator and drive forward Royal Trinity’s vision and values to ensure safe and outstanding care for our patients on the inpatient unit (IPU), outpatients and those attending our Living Well Service helping them to make the best of every moment.

Overall purpose of the role:

  • To lead and co-ordinate the provision of a patient-centred Complementary Therapy Service for palliative care patients admitted to the inpatient unit (IPU), and attending our Living Well Out‑patient services by offering hands‑on therapies (such as massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, acupuncture and Reiki) and supporting group activities.
  • To recruit, train and co-ordinate volunteer Complementary Therapists providing management support and mentorship.
  • The role also includes the organisation and provision of complementary therapies to Royal Trinity staff to enhance their well‑being.

Skills and experience required:

  • Qualification in reflexology, aromatherapy, massage, acupuncture or similar modality, with relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Recognised and up to date registration relating to your qualification with the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council) or another Professional Standards Authority‑accredited register.
  • A passion for working with patients with palliative care needs.
  • Strong team working skills, a positive and professional outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet the emotional, physical and psychological needs of our patients.
  • Enthusiasm and a flexible attitude to work.

A pension scheme is offered with employer contributions of up to 7.5% or a continuation of your existing NHS pension. A generous 27 days annual leave increasing to 29 after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years, plus bank holidays (any bank holidays worked will be given back in lieu).
