We are looking to recruit a Head of Education to cover a period of maternity leave, on a fixed term contract. This role will suit an applicant with excellent understanding of higher education provision and professional and vocational education training and a good understanding of the nature of a professional institute, along with experience of line and project management.

In this role the tasks will include:

  • Overseeing the RTPI’s education functions
  • Leading and motivating the RTPI’s education team
  • Supporting the Director of Careers, Education and Planning Aid England across the education remit
  • Working with other teams within the RTPI
  • Acting as lead officer for the RTPI’s Education and Lifelong Learning Committee
  • Advocating for the RTPI’s education work internally and externally

Applicants will need to have experience of successful multi-agency and partnership working and of managing budgets successfully. Excellent communication skills are essential, and a knowledge of UK planning systems would be particularly helpful. This is a senior role within the RTPI, requiring management of multiple projects simultaneously.
