We are delighted to invite applications for a Consultant in Nuclear Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK\’s leading departments in Nuclear Medicine, playing a key role in delivering and developing our cutting edge diagnostic and therapeutic services.

The Royal Surrey Nuclear Medicine Department is nationally recognised for innovation, quality, and excellence in service delivery and research. We are proud to be:

  • The first standalone Nuclear Medicine department in the UK to receive UKAS accreditation against the BS70000 standard, reflecting our unwavering commitment to clinical quality, safety, and leadership.
  • Fully equipped to deliver a wide range of molecular radiotherapy procedures, including radioiodine, Xofigo, Lutathera, SIRT and Pluvicto.
  • Closely integrated with our Research & Development team, supporting the development and translation of cutting-edge imaging techniques and novel therapeutic agents.
  • Integrated with a large and experienced team of Nuclear Medicine Medical Physics Experts and Clinical Scientists, who provide scientific support to our department as well as to other centres regionally.
  • Equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology, including two GE Discovery 870 DR SPECT/CT scanners and a GE Discovery 870 CZT SPECT camera.
  • Supported by a growing, skilled team of Nuclear Medicine Technologists delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services.

We are seeking a Consultant who is enthusiastic about Nuclear Medicine and has a desire to contribute to service development and translational research. The successful candidate will:

  • Take a leadership role in the clinical delivery and future development of our Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic services, with a commitment to quality.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and work collaboratively across specialties.
  • Support ongoing research projects and help drive the expansion of clinical trials involving Nuclear Medicine diagnosis and therapy.
  • Support the training of local medical, scientific and technical trainees and apprenticeships.
  • Contribute to departmental governance, quality improvement and service evaluation.

This is a 10 PA post, with a balanced mix of direct clinical care and supporting professional activities. The job plan includes:

  • 1.5 SPA for core revalidation, CPD, audit, and appraisal, as per national guidance.
  • Additional time allocated to support responsibilities in research, governance, and teaching.
