We have developed an exciting opportunity for a B6 experienced triage nurse to undertake a fixed-term role within our Haslemere Minor Injuries Unit (soon to be upgraded to an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), and with ad hoc cover at the Royal Surrey County Hospital Emergency Department if needed). Various hours are available, and we are inviting applications from our internal nurses interested in developing their nursing careers.

Successful candidates will work alongside our qualified ECPs to develop and utilize their skills and competencies in triage, assessment, and treatment of patients presenting with minor injuries and illnesses at the Minor Injuries Unit/UTC, with rotations into the RS Emergency Department. Post holders will have a dedicated ECP Clinical Mentor for support and will receive ongoing clinical support throughout their practice. Candidates will maintain a practice portfolio to evidence their specialist skills in this area.

Job Purpose

The role is a fixed-term contract from July 25 to January 1, 2026. The post holder will work as a clinical nurse alongside qualified ECPs, using their skills to undertake triage, assessment, and support in managing and treating patients with minor injuries and illnesses.

Essential Criteria

  • NMC registered nurse (Adult / Paed) with 2+ years of emergency department experience
  • Manchester Triage Training or equivalent
  • Mentorship Qualification
  • Cannulation, venipuncture, streaming, and IV additives

Desirable Criteria

  • Non-Medical Prescribing
  • Physical Assessment (L5/6)
  • Minor injury/illness courses
  • Plastering, suturing, IRMER/XR, bony assessment
