This post will support the Head of Public Affairs in helping the Wildlife Trust movement make arguments and develop relationships with parliamentarians in order to influence policy in Westminster, to the benefit of nature recovery.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Public Affairs in developing arguments and building relationships with parliamentarians to influence policy at Westminster.
- Work with policy, campaigning, and communications colleagues to build support for The Wildlife Trusts' advocacy priorities, including work on water policy.
- Analyze the legislative process and parliamentary procedures, translating complex policies into compelling written communications.
- Advocate effectively in front of politicians and support successful advocacy campaigns.
- Ensure consistent messaging and policy advocacy across cross‑functional teams.
Qualifications
- Understanding of the legislative process and parliamentary procedures.
- Ability to communicate detailed policies in a compelling and persuasive way, especially in written form.
- Proven track record of working with politicians and supporting successful advocacy campaigns.
- Comfortable with policy work as well as parliamentary advocacy.
- Prior experience with water policy is particularly useful.
