Role Mission
Assisting Project Runners on the general design and management of Architectural Projects through all RIBA Work stages.
Academic Experience
RIBA Part II accredited degree or equivalent
General Responsibilities
- Support the team in the technical delivery of commercial, retail, residential, industrial projects.
- Conducting activities and producing outputs in line with relevant legislation and industry standards including drawings, schedules, specifications and reports under direct supervision of the Project Runner.
- Produce presentation material, reports and models as required.
- Support in ensuring all project agreements are in place and the terms of appointment and programme is clear.
- Assist in the production of Planning, Landlord, Building Control, and other statutory applications.
- Assist in the management of pre‑construction Health and Safety in line with CDM 2015 where Hyphen are acting as Principal Designer.
- Attend and engage in client and design team meetings – minute meetings as required.
- Undertake surveys or site visits to monitor works and produce documentation to communicate findings.
- Supporting the production and management of the construction tendering process.
- Liaise with and provide information to other consultants and incorporate their input as necessary.
- Review drawings from other internal and external team members and produce mark‑ups where necessary.
- Maintain appropriate project reporting through the Rapport system.
- Adherence to Hyphen Quality Management System (QMS) and Technical Standards at all times.
- Other tasks as reasonably required from time to time.
- Attend and contribute to office team meetings.
- Keep up to date with the work of the office and company as a whole.
- Develop appropriate understanding of UK legislation, planning, construction and health and safety.
- Attend and contribute to office arranged CPD sessions.
- Manage personal CPD.

Role Responsibilities
- Attendance at client and design team meetings
- Research the project specific technical and design elements such as building regulations, planning constraints and report back to project runner
- Prepare and maintain meeting records
- Maintain day to day client project runner contact
- Support the technical service delivery for the project duration
- Communicating resource needs to project runner where appropriate
- Maintain and contribute to the Project Quality Control System
- Raise any issues that may affect the agreed fee
- Participate in the contract administration process supporting the project runner
- Prepare design stage packages from concept, developed, technical and construction stages
- Prepare technical details, sketches and drawings demonstrating the proposals
- Prepare reports at the end of each stage for review
- Research and prepare specific technical specifications for materials and standards of workmanship
- Carry out site visits to ascertain project specifics or carry out measured surveys
- Manage small teams in the delivery of individual package designs (planning, specific work element)
- Review and ensure all own work produced is to Hyphen standards prior to review of project runners or senior employees
