Dot Projects is seeking an exceptional Architect or Architectural Assistant to join the studio at an exciting stage of growth. We are a small, ambitious and design-led practice delivering thoughtful residential architecture across Northern Ireland from contemporary extensions and carefully considered renovations to bespoke private homes. Our work combines strong design ideas with technical rigour, warm client relationships and a genuine love of creating spaces with character, light and longevity. This is a rare opportunity to join a growing studio early, take on meaningful responsibility, work closely with the director, and play a real part in shaping the next chapter of the practice.
The Role
You will contribute across all stages of projects, from early concepts through planning, technical design and delivery on site. Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Design development and concept work
- Planning application packages and presentations
- Building Control and technical drawing packages
- Coordination with consultants, contractors and suppliers
- Site visits, inspections and project support
- Client communication and meeting input
- Helping refine studio systems, workflows and standards as the practice grows
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a qualified Architect, Part II, Part III candidate or highly capable Architectural Assistant with excellent technical ability and strong design instincts. We’re particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate:
- Strong design judgement and spatial awareness
- Excellent technical proficiency and detailing ability
- Experience producing accurate, coordinated drawing packages
- Good understanding of NI planning and Building Regulations
- Confidence communicating with clients, consultants and contractors
- Initiative, reliability and commercial awareness
- Strong organisation and the ability to manage workload independently
- A positive attitude, energy and appetite to grow with a young practice
As a small studio, versatility matters. We’re looking for someone happy to contribute across all aspects of practice life and project delivery. Ultimately, the successful candidate will be the person whose skills, attitude and approach are the best fit for Dot Projects and where we are heading.

Experience in some or all of the following would be advantageous:
- Vectorworks
- SketchUp
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Enscape or similar

Working Arrangement
Initially, the role will operate flexibly on a home-based / remote basis with regular in-person meetings in Belfast and on site. Dedicated studio space is planned as the practice continues to grow.
